Every ADU we design, permit, and build in Menifee runs through this crew. We’re the people who measure your existing garage slab at 7 a.m., call the city about your setback variance at noon, and send you photos of the rebar tie-ins before we pour. Nadia Ellery, Principal
I started Ellery ADU Studio in 2015 after watching a client get handed three separate contracts for one garage conversion in Murrieta: one for design, one for permitting, and one for build. Each pointed at the other when the foundation cracked. I built this studio around a single contract and a single written price, start to finish. I’m the one who sits down with you for the initial site evaluation, sketches the rough footprint on graph paper while we’re talking, and signs off on every permit set before it hits the city. I keep a folding ruler in my truck that I’ve had since 2009. The numbers on it are worn off past 16 feet, but I know where they were.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2019 and runs our site evaluations across Menifee, Sun City, and the newer Quail Valley builds. He’s ICC-certified for residential structural inspections and has a particular eye for existing slab conditions, which matters more than most homeowners realize. In Menifee’s older neighborhoods, he’ll tell you straight if your 1970s garage slab is 3.5 inches and needs a monolithic pour extension, or if you’re sitting on 6 inches and can save four grand on the foundation line item. Off hours, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance-for-no-b.s. to both pursuits.
Diana R., Senior Installer
Diana came up through prefab modular install crews before joining us in 2021, and she coordinates our relationships with Abodu, Cover, and Mighty Buildings on the Menifee side. She knows the crane access requirements for each system by heart, which matters when you’re setting a unit on a sloped lot near the Menifee Lakes basin and the delivery window is tight. Diana’s also our go-to for James Hardie siding integration on hybrid builds, part prefab and part site-built. She has a dog named Permit. The joke writes itself, but she’s heard them all.
Javier L., Service Coordinator
Javier handles scheduling, city liaison, and the photo documentation system that feeds into every client’s project folder. He’s the one who confirms your Menifee building department submittal appointment, tracks the plan-check turnaround, and makes sure you receive your documented photo record within 24 hours of every site visit. Before joining us in 2022, he worked in permit expediting for a general contractor in Temecula and still has contacts at Riverside County who pick up when he calls. Javier is quietly competitive about response times. If he says he’ll have your permit status by 3 p.m., you’ll have it at 2:47.
Taylor K., Apprentice
Taylor started with us in 2024 after completing the construction technology program at Mt. San Jacinto College. They’re rotating through every phase of our process, from as-built measurements to final punch walks, and they’ve already developed a specialty in utility tie-in logistics for Menifee’s varied lot conditions. Taylor asks the questions that remind the rest of us to explain our assumptions out loud. They live in Romoland and commute past at least three ADU job sites they had a hand in, which they find quietly satisfying.
